I bought this during Amazons Black Friday Week deals. I had recently purchased the Garmin nüvi 205W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator and wanted a case for it when not in use. I have to admit that it was the price that sold me and not necessarily the reviews. After all a 3 star average isn’t that great. But I was willing to take the chance and I’m glad I did. I can easily fit my GPS, the 12V adapter with cord and a couple extra disks in the Lowepro 4.3-Inch Navi Shield GPS Carrying Case. I also have no problem zipping it up without any force or worry about applying too much pressure. The case is firm without being to hard and small enough to put in my purse or travel bag. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the inflated price. Had it not of been on sale, I would have passed it over. If you’re looking to buy keep an eye on price fluctuations, a discount of $8 or more off the list price would be worth it.
I also added in a picture to the customer images to show the case holding my GPS and charger.

A salesperson at Best Buy suggested that I take a look at this case when I couldn’t find anything that met my needs specifically designed for the Droid. As it happens, this case is perfect for travel (though a bit bulky for daily use) where I need to carry the phone, earbuds, charge cable, travel charger plug, and an extra battery.
Not the highest quality materials, but at the price it certainly deserves four stars at least.

GPS screens are very fragile and they do not come with a storage case. The screen of my Nuvi 680, stored bare in the glove compartment, cracked and I have been storing it in an old Handspring Visor soft and padded case. A protective box is definitely needed and this Lowepro case fills the void. You cannot leave a visible GPS unit in a parked vehicle for danger of theft, so you can store the GPS in a Lowepro box like this and keep the mount or cradle out of view.
Lowepro box is sturdy and protective. It has two main compartments, one for the GPS unit and second for the charger. Then there is a mesh pocket that can hold storage cards although I am not sure how many people use multiple cards. Interior divider and linings are padded, soft and should protect the GPS unit. The zipper barely closes the box once you have GPS and the charger in there and does not appear to be of good quality. The utility of “cleaning station” on inside lid with microfiber cloth is also dubious.
In my experience, you need two kinds of storage solutions for the GPS units:
1. One is to store the GPS unit, charger & mount in a parked car, out of the view, to prevent theft and protect the unit. This complete storage solution is also needed to transfer the unit from one vehicle to another or to inside the home. Lowepro box does not have room for cradle or mount and hence does not offer the full solution here.
2. The second scenario is when you take the unit along for a walking trip or on public transportation, for which I use old Handspring Visor case but I wish there was soft cover with clear screen. This Lowepro box is too big to fit in your pocket.
Purported to serve both these situations, this storage box does neither very well, and is kind of an in-between solution
Therefore, major drawback to this box is that it is not a complete storage solution for the whole GPS unit and its accessories. You are still left with a loose cradle or windshield mount which will not fit in this box. They could have made it a little bigger with one compartment for the GPS unit and second divided compartment for charger and windshield mount.

The Lowepro 4.3 inch NaviShield GPS carrying case is designed to safeguard and hold your GPS device, power supply, and SD or map extension cards. It can fit in your pocketbook, backpack, or other bag; in your glove compartment or center console in your car. The carrying case is hard with two pockets for the SD or map extension cards; one pocket for the charger; one pocket for the GPS unit; a d-ring attachment if you want to hang the case from something (a pocketbook or knapsack for example); and dual zippers.
The Lowepro 4.3 inch NaviShield GPS carrying case is a nice case and considering the low price it has a lot of handy little features. The pocket where you store the GPS is padded to protect the screen and has a hook/loop closure to hold the GPS unit firmly in place. There is also a built-in microfiber sheet to clean the GPS screen if needed. The carrying case is designed to hold GPS units that are 4.3 inches or smaller and I had no problem fitting my Garmin GPS unit into the case. While I like the GPS carrying case there are a few things I don’t like about it. The case is small, but a bit too large to fit in small pocketbooks. The dual zippers are a nice feature but I had a hard time getting the zippers to close all the way. Most importantly, while it is great that the carrying case holds so many accessories, it does not have room for the windshield mount which is very disappointing since it isn’t a good idea to leave evidence in your car that you have a GPS unless you want your car broken into or stolen.
The Lowepro 4.3 inch NaviShield GPS carrying case isn’t perfect but it’s a nice inexpensive yet sturdy way of carrying your GPs and some accessories.
